Living in Taiwan presents a challenge when trying to apply for a Myanmar visa as the country has adopted the One China Policy and does not have a Taiwanese consulate or embassy in country. Vice versa here in Taiwan, there are daily direct flights from Taipei to Yangon, but no Myanmar embassy or consulate.
I went to attend the Myanmar Private Sector Investment Summit at the end of January and found myself needing a visa without stopping in Bangkok to get one. My solution was to use the services of MyanmarVisa.com to secure my visa on arrival in Yangon.
I can say that everything was in order at the Immigration counter and two others on my flight used the service as well. We all had no problems getting our visas with the paperwork prepared by MyanmarVisa.com
Remember that Immigration will only accept crisp, unwrinkled, un-marked on bills, no exceptions!
I can suggest this as an alternative to stopping in a bordering country to get a Myanmar visa and I plan to use their services again when I return to Yangon in March.
